The Raw Computing Power project is designed to determine how many instructions per second your processor can do. Its data is also used to disprove the megahertz myth, which is the belief that the frequency (MHz or GHz) of your processor determines its speed. In the future, data from this project will be used to rate processors based on their ability and offer users a more accurate way to determine which processor is fastest.
The software to measure these instructions is still in development. It should be completed by the end of August.
